BIOHAZARD: The Alien Force
THE STORY: Triton Industries, an evil corporation (which is all we find out about them, but has there ever been a gentle, kind hearted corporation in a movie?) has created a genetic mutant which they believe is the next step in evolution for mankind. Using genetic material from several donors, They impregnate a woman who manages to escape just in time for the alien...I mean Mutant, to be born and disappear. But all hope is not lost. Mike Reardon, former security chief for Triton and his girlfriend Nicki are trying to expose the hideous plot!
The mutant has a limited lifespan so it has to mate with one of the female donors posthaste...for some reason though, it is compelled to kill all of the male donors. Triton's boss, Brady and his old-but-mean-tough-guy henchman Quint are trying to cover up the experiment by killing all the donors themselves. Mike manages to steal the convienently labeled computer disk with the list of donors from Triton's lab. Dr. Phillips, easily one of the worst actresses to exist, almost stops him but he outsmarts her with a box of floppy disks. This is when it gets silly. Mike, Nicki and their friend Lynch try to get to the victims before Quint or the mutant but always arrive just after one or the other has killed them. Lynch, a former scientist for Triton is also a genetic donor and he tells Mike and Nicki that some of the donors were genetically altered and will die anyway, himself included. In not too short order there are only two female donors left alive. One of them is definitely going to be dead meat and in true movie fashion its the one that participates in the only sex scene in the movie. Quint and Dr. Phillips, a Triton scientist, capture the alien and require the other female donor to breed it. Just as Mike and his friends are about to warn the woman, Caitlin, Quint kidnaps her son IN PUBLIC. Our heroes must then go to Triton's secret lab at the airfield to exchange Caitlin for the boy. The mutant breaks free just before the mating occurs and Lynch sacrifices himself, killing the mutant and Dr. Phillips. Brady and his pilot escape only to have Mike shoot their helicopter down, which falls on Quint killing him too.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?:
1.) Triton has a giant complex which apparently employs two people! Dr. Phillips is the only person around when Mike sneaks in and finds a floppy disk in plain sight labeled "Genetic donors"! Quint arrives after Mike evades Phillips (when she had a gun on him no less). She calls security but NO ONE shows up!
2.) In the beginning of the movie, the mutant's mom and a guy escape Triton's complex... at night. They drive, apparently for hours because the make it to a large city at dusk! Is time running in reverse? Couldn't the director get a shot of this skyline at night? Strangely there is no other traffic or people around at all!
3.) For an evil corporate killer, Quint is dumber than a box of rocks. In order to kill the mutant's mom and the guy and get rid of the evidence he places them in their car, puts it in gear and lets it roll down an alley at about 25 mph. It collides with a parked car and explodes. Yes, I said it explodes! Where's Ralph Nader when you need him? Lynch witnesses the whole thing. He's not under any cover and he's fully illuminated under a street lamp! Quint doesn't bother to see if he's being observed IN A BIG CITY, when he could spot Lynch ten feet behind him on a fire escape if he simply turned around!
4.) What's up with the cops? Only two of them show up when one of the donors is found dead. They don't call forensics or anything, they just decide to drive Mike and Nicki downtown because they were there. They almost run over the mutant, that for some reason was in the middle of the road. Later when the mutant shows up trying to kill one of the donors they don't want to call for backup. ("No one will believe us!") If I take up a life of crime I'm going to wear a Godzilla suit and move to that town.
NUDITY AND SEX: We meet one of the female donors while she's doing the nasty with some dude. Nicki shows her boobs for a few seconds.
HUH?: When Mike shoots down the 'copter take a look at his gun. The rack slides all the way back (indicating that he has no bullets left) but he manages to fire one more invisible bullet that hits the pilot.
THE TALLY: This movie tries very hard to look serious, but the bad acting, lack of any kind of effects and generally stupid script will give those quick of wit plenty to rip on.. The acting is terrible, particularly Quint and Dr, Phillips. She's so bad you'll want to punch her in her big Donkey teeth.
